According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Oman and Iran have discussed a phased framework to restore safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The programme includes a temporary joint shipping route, as well as joint strait clearance operations. The two sides will continue technical discussions to establish permanent shipping channels, traffic control mechanisms, and security cooperation, while calling for coordination with the Gulf countries.
