On August 25, the “Promoting the Building of a Peaceful and Prosperous Asian Community of Destiny” dialogue conference was held in Beijing. Wang Dongming, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Wang Dongming said that since President Xi Jinping proposed the concept of building a common destiny in Asia, all parties have worked together to inject strong impetus into the peace, stability, prosperity and development of Asia. With the theme of “Common Destiny: A New Chapter in Asia”, we expect all parties to be guided by the concept of building a common destiny of mankind, implement the four major global initiatives, work together to promote the building of a common destiny in Asia, and jointly write a new chapter of peace, development, cooperation and prosperity in Asia. The conference was co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Renmin University of China, and the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. A total of about 300 people attended, including dignitaries and former dignitaries from relevant Asian countries, as well as representatives from various sectors such as local governments, friendly organizations, economy and trade, think tanks, and youth.
