The Zhitong Finance App learned that the DeepSeek API open platform announced that starting at 00:00 on August 23, the peak and valley billing rules will be optimized. The whole day on Saturdays and Sundays will no longer distinguish between peak and valley periods, and will be uniformly billed according to the low peak period prices. Charges incurred before the new rules came into effect will still be settled according to the original billing standards.

The adjusted billing rules are: The peak and valley pricing is maintained on weekdays. The peak period is 9:00 to 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Beijing time; the rest of the time is idle. The price during the low season is half of the price during peak hours. Weekends: The whole day on Saturdays and Sundays is billed uniformly according to the low season price.

Take the flagship model DeepSeek-V4-Pro as an example. During peak periods, input is RMB 9 (same below) for every million tokens (cache not hit), output is 27 yuan, and 0.3 yuan is entered in cache hit. Low period: 4.5 yuan per million tokens input (cache not hit), output 13.5 yuan, cache hit input as low as 0.15 yuan.

Earlier, with the official launch of the full DeepSeek V4 model series, DeepSeek announced a price increase for the DeepSeek API on August 17: the output price of the flagship model V4-Pro rose from 6 yuan to 27 yuan per million tokens during peak periods, an increase of 350%, and the cache input price rose from 0.025 yuan to 0.3 yuan, an increase of 1,100%, which is the biggest single price increase since DeepSeek was released.
