Equinor, Aker BP, Vår Energi Form Alliance for Norwegian Continental Shelf Exploration

07:27 AM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Norway-listed energy companies Equinor (EQNR.OL), Aker BP (AKRBP.OL) and Vår Energi (VAR.OL) launched a partnership to pursue exploration opportunities across the Norwegian continental shelf. Over the next four to five years, the companies plan to share risk and combine expertise to target 20 to 25 exploration opportunities, according to a Monday release. The companies aim to drill roughly five exploration wells every year under the partnership.
