05:27 AM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK government advised energy company executives on measures to strengthen cyber defenses following reports that Iran-linked hackers forced a small British power generator offline for four days, Reuters reported Monday Energy Minister Michael Shanks said in a post on X that the government and industry were working with regulators and the National Cyber Security ⁠Centre to bolster protection. He stressed that the incident posed no risk to the wider electricity grid and caused no loss of power. Shanks added that the affected facility was very small compared with a conventional power plant.
