Recently, the media reported that some cabbage buyers in Kangbao County, Zhangjiakou, Hebei were suspected of using formaldehyde solution in violation of regulations. The Shanghai Vegetable Group attached great importance to it and immediately deployed its various agricultural product wholesale markets to launch an emergency response mechanism. After verification, up to now, no problematic cabbage from the Kangbao County involved has been found. Since August 22, special formaldehyde testing programs have been added to all Chinese cabbage entering the market on the basis of strict implementation of conventional admission systems such as “every batch must be inspected, first inspected, then sold” and requesting certification and tickets. Up to now, all Chinese cabbage formaldehyde test results have been negative, and no cases of agricultural residue or formaldehyde exceeding the standard have been detected.
