According to a report on the US Axios News website on the 19th, the US military has quietly established a shipping channel in and out of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure that “millions of barrels” of oil are shipped out of the Strait of Hormuz every day. The report quoted two US officials as saying that the operation has been going on for weeks. Over the past two weeks, 15 to 20 tankers have been entering and leaving the strait every day via a southern channel off the coast of Oman. US officials said that the average daily oil transportation volume continues to grow. Currently, it is close to 10 million barrels, and the total amount of oil shipped from the Gulf at some nights has even reached 15 million to 20 million barrels. US officials said that although the amount of oil shipped through the Strait of Hormuz is still lower than pre-war levels, it has had an obvious impact on global supply.
