10:55 AM EDT, 08/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Flughafen Zürich (FHZN.SW) was forced to restrict its flight capacity due to a partial system outage affecting its departure planning, electronic air traffic coordination, and stand planning operations, online news outlet Blick reported Wednesday. The Swiss airport operator's spokesperson, Adrian Panholzer, was cited as saying that flight delays, which started on Tuesday, are expected to continue on Wednesday as apron control resorts to manual operations. Leisure charters were also largely grounded to preserve slots for regular flights. Panholzer reportedly added that the cause of the IT problem is still being investigated. Flughafen Zürich did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
