The reporter learned from the Guangzhou Port Group that on August 19, the “Arctic China-Europe Express” route launched in the Nansha Port area of Guangzhou Port, marking the official operation of the route from South China to Europe via the Arctic Ocean, injecting new strong momentum into the high-quality development of foreign trade in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. According to information, this route uses the Northeast Arctic Waterway as the core trunk line, connecting China's core economic and trade hinterlands in South China and East China with the European market. As the first domestic export port for this route, the Nansha port area undertakes an important function of gathering goods exported from South China. It only takes 28 days for the goods to be shipped from Nansha Port to Flixstowe Port in the UK, which reduces the transit time by 14 days compared to the Cape of Good Hope route. The relevant person in charge of the Guangzhou Port Group explained that in the future, goods shipped via Nansha will cross the Arctic Circle and reach the core European port, further covering more than 10 countries in Northern Europe and Eastern Europe, expanding a new route for foreign trade in South China to go overseas.
