Recently, German media reported that Porsche plans to discontinue production of its first all-electric sedan, the Taycan, by 2030. Allegedly, the Porsche Trade Union Committee has reached an agreement with management in principle to gradually end production of the Taycan around 2030, but no formal written documents have been formed. In response, Porsche's German headquarters stated that the company is streamlining the number of Taycan derivative models to reduce product complexity rather than cutting out the entire car series. There are no plans to discontinue production of the Taycan in the short term. “We have invested significant resources in this model and will continue to evaluate its future development in light of changes in market demand.”
