The 71st meeting of chairpersons of the 14th National People's Congress Standing Committee was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the morning of the 18th. Chairman Zhao Leji presided over the meeting. The meeting decided that the 24th session of the 14th National People's Congress Standing Committee will be held in Beijing from August 25 to 28. The meeting of committee chairpersons recommended that the 24th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress review the draft medical security law, the draft agricultural law revision, the draft national defense mobilization law revision draft, the draft law amendments to the lawyers law, the draft amendments to the corporate bankruptcy law, the draft amendments to the banking supervision and administration law, and the draft water law revisions; review the State Council's bill to submit for review the draft anti-cross-border corruption law; consider the State Council's bill to submit for review and approval of the “Extradition Treaty between the People's Republic of China and Hungary” . The agenda for the 24th session of the Standing Committee proposed by the Committee chairpersons also included reviewing the State Council's report on the implementation of the national economic and social development plan since this year, the report on the implementation of the budget since this year, the report on the management of government debt in 2025, the report on efforts to improve the quality of cultural products and services, the report on continuing to consolidate and expand the results of the fight against poverty and solidly promote comprehensive rural revitalization; reviewing the representative qualifications of individual representatives of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress; and reviewing relevant appointments and dismissal cases.
