According to the “Regulations on the Administration of Medical Records in Medical Institutions”, consent forms for surgery are medical records, and their writing should be objective, true, accurate, timely, complete and standardized. The “Basic Rules for Writing Medical Records” clarifies the requirements for writing documents related to surgery. The National Health and Health Commission organized and issued the “Action Plan to Improve the Quality and Safety of Surgery”, which requires medical institutions to scientifically formulate surgical plans based on surgical risks, patient evaluations, and patient wishes, and clarify surgical indications, contraindications, surgical methods, expected results, surgical risks and treatment plans.
