Citi published a research report and gave Zijin Gold International a “buy” rating for the first time, with a target price of HK$178. According to the bank, Zijin Mining holds 85% of Zijin Gold International's shares and provides it with an experienced M&A team. Thanks to newly acquired assets and production expansion, Zijin Gold International's gold production growth rate is leading the industry, while effectively controlling costs and exploration expenses. Citi predicts that Zijin Gold International's equity gold production will grow at a compound annual rate of 17% from 2025 to 2028, which is higher than that of its peers, mainly driven by the expansion of production in projects such as Rosebel, Akyem, and RG Gold. The company aims to produce 100 tons of mineral gold by 2030, of which 70 to 75 tons will come from existing mines and 20 to 25 tons will come from potential mergers and acquisitions.
