According to the Zhitong Finance App, China Gold International (02099) issued an announcement that the company's Changshanchou Gold Mine Slope Management Plan has been approved. According to the current construction schedule, it is expected that the key phased treatment projects required to resume mining operations will be completed within about one month after the construction unit is determined and entered, and normal mining operations will gradually resume.
A partial slope instability incident occurred at the Changshan Trench Mine on May 22, 2026. There were no casualties or equipment damage as a result of the incident. In order to ensure safety, open pit mining operations have been suspended at the Changshan Trench Mine, while the beneficiation operation uses existing low-grade ore stocks to maintain operation. Since then, the company organized external geotechnical engineering experts and professional institutions to carry out geotechnical evaluation and treatment plan design.
At present, the “Open Pit Mining Slope Landslide Geological Disaster Mitigation Plan Design” and the “Open Pit Mining Slope Geological Disaster Prevention Project Design” have all been approved and implemented by the company. The total estimated capital expenditure for the two projects is approximately RMB 983.75,800. The main project schedule is as follows: The estimated construction period of the open pit slope landslide geological hazard treatment project is 183 days, and the budget capital expenditure is RMB 48.4628 million. The estimated construction period for the open pit mine slope geological disaster prevention project is 240 days, and the budget capital expenditure is RMB 49.913 million.
The company will fully implement various safety risk management and control measures, and dynamically adjust construction arrangements based on slope treatment construction progress, safety monitoring data, actual site conditions and relevant inspection standards. The treatment project and prevention project will proceed simultaneously, and on the premise of ensuring safety, a plan to coordinate construction with slope reduction and load reduction and mining operations will be adopted. It is expected that the company can promote the implementation of key projects required to resume mining operations and the overall slope treatment process in an integrated manner, while continuously monitoring slope stability and resuming normal mining production in an orderly manner on the premise that safety standards and related project acceptance guidelines are met.
According to the current plan, after the bidding process is completed to determine the construction unit and implement the on-site construction deployment, the company will aim to complete the retractable mine road construction project, installation of a passive protective net system for the lower part of the sliding body, and other key phased engineering tasks required to resume mining operations within about one month. It is initially anticipated that the main hazard sites affecting mining operations will be eliminated by the end of September 2026, and safety standards for resuming normal mining operations will be achieved. Thereafter, the overall slope protection and treatment project will continue to advance in strict accordance with the approved design plan.
