The US Department of Defense announced on August 14 that it has reached two framework agreements with Boeing and RTX to expand production of key components for Standard-3 Block IB and Standard-3 Block IIA missiles. The SM-3 series missiles are an important part of the US “Aegis” ballistic missile defense system and forms the core of the US sea-based missile defense system.
