A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan on July 28. According to the results of a recent survey, nearly 16% of business operations across Japan were affected by the earthquake. In the Kyushu region where Kumamoto Prefecture is located, more than half of the companies were affected. The Imperial Japanese Database Company conducted a questionnaire survey of 938 companies nationwide from the 7th to the 12th of this month to ask if the business conditions of each company were affected by the earthquake. According to the survey results released on the 14th, 15.7% of companies surveyed said they have been or are expected to be affected; in the Kyushu region, up to 53.9% of companies said they were affected.
