China Electric Power (02380): The BESS procurement contract with Xinjiang Shengyuan will provide a fully integrated battery energy storage system for the Hami North Project

Zhitong Finance App News, China Electric Power (02380) announced that on August 14, 2026, Xinyuan Smart Storage (a subsidiary company not wholly owned by the Company) signed a BESS procurement contract with Xinjiang Shengyuan as the seller. According to the contract, Xinyuan Smart Storage will provide a fully integrated battery energy storage system for the Hami North project, including required equipment materials and related services, at a cost of RMB 115 million (approximately HK$132 million).

Xinyuan Smart Storage has agreed to provide the equipment materials and related services required by BESS for the Hami North project, including lithium iron phosphate cells, battery cabinets, battery management systems, integrated conversion and step-up transformers, energy management systems, interroom cables and auxiliary equipment, and also provides installation, commissioning, performance evaluation, trial operation, and follow-up services covering the warranty period (that is, five years from the date of initial performance acceptance). During the warranty period, the seller is obligated to fix any defects and damage that may occur.

On the same day that the BESS procurement contract was signed, Xinyuan Smart Storage and Guoning Technology (the cell supplier designated in accordance with the tender requirements) signed the battery procurement contract at a cost of RMB 74.2918 million.

Providing BESS for the Hami North Project will enable Xinyuan Smart Storage to gain market share and accumulate strength in the field of energy storage, help the Group build a comprehensive new energy supply chain, and meet the Group's strategic goal of transforming into a green and low-carbon energy supplier and service provider.
