South Gobi (01878) announced interim results. Net loss attributable to shareholders of 13.36 million US dollars narrowed by 72.74% year-on-year

According to the Zhitong Finance App, South Gobi (01878) announced that in the second quarter of 2026, the group obtained revenue of US$212 million, an increase of 36.31%; the net loss attributable to the company's equity holders was US$5.324 million, a year-on-year narrowing of 76.66%; and basic and diluted losses per share were US$0.018.

In the first half of 2026, the group achieved revenue of US$381 million, an increase of 36.99%; net loss attributable to the company's equity holders was US$13.36 million, a year-on-year decrease of 72.74%; and basic and diluted losses of US$0.045 per share.

In the second quarter of 2026, the company achieved an average sales price of $60.6 per ton, compared to $52.6 per ton in the second quarter of 2025. The increase in average realized sales price was mainly due to an increase in the sales ratio of high-quality semi-soft coking coal in the second quarter of 2026, and an increase in its average realized price. The product portfolio for the second quarter of 2026 includes about 49% of high-quality semi-soft coking coal, 24% of standard semi-soft coking coal, 18% of high-quality thermal coal and 9% of coal by-products, while the second quarter of 2025 includes about 15% of high-quality semi-soft coking coal, 60% of standard semi-soft coking coal, 22% of high-quality thermal coal, 1% of standard thermal coal, and 2% of coal by-products.

The unit sales cost of products sold by the company in the second quarter of 2026 was $54.4 per ton, compared to $53.9 per ton in the second quarter of 2025. The increase was mainly due to the expansion of the company's business into several processed coal categories with higher production costs.

The company sold 6.6 million tons in the first 6 months of 2026, compared to 5 million tons in the first 6 months of 2025. The company achieved an average realized sales price of $57.7 per ton in the first six months of 2026, compared to $55.4 per ton in the first six months of 2025.
