Listen to the news

We wouldn't blame Asker Healthcare Group AB (publ) (STO:ASKER) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Mattias Jaran, the Head of IT Integrity recently netted about kr21m selling shares at an average price of kr82.90. That sale reduced their total holding by 33% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

Asker Healthcare Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by Mattias Jaran is the biggest insider sale of Asker Healthcare Group shares that we've seen in the last year. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of kr79.50. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).

Over the last year we saw more insider selling of Asker Healthcare Group shares, than buying. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Insider Ownership

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Asker Healthcare Group insiders own 4.2% of the company, currently worth about kr1.3b based on the recent share price. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
