Amorim said at a session of the Brazilian House of Representatives on the same day that the US is trying to make Latin America subordinate to its interests. “Anyone who has watched that video will understand that they are trying to weaken the sovereignty of Latin American countries, including Brazil, of course.” Amorim pointed out that the US recently adopted measures such as imposing large tariffs on Brazil, which are politically motivated. Citing Brazilian President Lula's statement, he reiterated that Brazil will not accept US unilateral measures to weaken Brazil's sovereignty or exert economic coercion on Pakistan.
