Goldman Sachs Group will acquire Neos Investments for no more than US$2.25 billion to expand the layout of its asset management business in the actively managed exchange-traded fund market. Marc Nachmann, head of Goldman Sachs's asset management business, said the cash+equity deal will include a rapidly growing ETF issuer in Goldman Sachs's product lineup. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, the company, which has been in business for a relatively short time, has launched nearly 20 yield ETFs based on futures strategies, with assets under management of about 32 billion US dollars. In recent years, such funds have been welcomed by various investors due to their high income distribution. The Neos platform packages complex institutional-level strategies, making it possible to target a wider range of investors. “Neos has been on a very strong growth trajectory,” Nachmann said in an interview.
