On August 11, the US-China Trade National Committee released an updated industry survey. The survey results show that the US export licensing system, which has been delayed in approval, is weakening the competitiveness of the US industry with China. The USCBC conducted a quick survey in July to understand the actual situation of businesses dealing with the US export licensing system during Trump's second term. The 31 companies surveyed were mainly from the technology, industry and manufacturing, energy, and healthcare industries. According to the report data, 66% of the companies surveyed said that some license applications have been pending for at least 3 months, which is longer than the period for the US Department of Commerce to process applications within 90 days according to law; 31% of companies said that some license applications have been pending for 1 to 2 years. Among them, 56% of companies also said that before the current administration, approval of similar export licenses usually only took 1 to 3 months.
