The introduction of the “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan for Urban Renewal” is to set the tone and guide for urban renewal across the country. According to the plan and market forecast, urban renewal is expected to drive an investment of 15 trillion yuan during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period. The plan identified 23 key tasks and proposed 10 quantitative indicators. Each of these figures relates to our living experience. They include: starting construction to renovate 115,000 old urban neighborhoods; renewing about 500,000 dilapidated urban housing units; remodeling 1,500 old urban factories; promoting the renovation of 4,000 urban villages; constructing and renovating 365,000 kilometers of urban underground pipe networks; building and expanding 128,000 hectares of stadium; and the digitization rate of basic urban housing information reaching more than 95%.
