Driven by demand for exchange-traded funds, the size of assets managed by the German fund industry surpassed 5 trillion euros for the first time. The German fund industry association BVI said in an announcement on Tuesday that in the first half of this year, the asset management scale of the entire industry increased by 348 billion euros to 5.2 trillion euros. The rise in asset market capitalization contributed to most of the increase, while ETF investment also brought considerable growth. Out of a total net inflow of 74 billion euros across the industry, ETFs attracted nearly 40 billion euros in additional capital.
