Metsä Group Plans EUR25 Million Fiber Packaging Production Line in Finland

05:44 AM EDT, 08/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Metsä Board (METSA.HE, METSB.HE) parent company Metsä Group plans to invest 25 million euros to establish a fiber packaging production line on the Metsä mill site in Äänekoski, Finland. The Finnish forest industry company's new facility will produce its Muoto food packaging products, which are made from its own wood fibers, according to a Tuesday release. The production line will start up in 2028, with a nominal capacity of over 100 million products per year. Technology company Valmet (VALMT.HE) will supply the production line.
