According to the “Korea Herald” report on the 10th, Korean TV and YouTube creators are beginning to turn stock market anxiety into entertainment content. Unlike traditional financial shows, this type of program follows celebrities and entertainers as they experience profits and losses in stock investments. One of the most popular examples of this new show that revolves around stock market sentiment is “Newbie Kim's Stock Market Quest” launched by Netflix Korea. The program premiered on August 3, inviting comedian Kim Won-hoon to enter the stock market for the first time. In the program, he received investment guidance from other comedians and participated in various missions to compete with other participants. In the teaser, Kim Won-hoon said that after investing about 180 million won in stock trading, he had already lost more than 20 million won, “almost losing the value of a car.” The program also focuses on Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, two high-profile stocks. Driven by a surge in demand for artificial intelligence-related semiconductors and market expectations for further performance improvements, both companies' stock prices hit record highs in mid-2026. But then, both companies' stock prices plummeted in July.
