On August 10, the Chilean National Copper Company announced that it had reached a historic agreement with the Chilean government, allowing for the first time the company to capitalize all of its profits of US$2,422 billion in fiscal year 2025 instead of handing them over to the national treasury. Chile's National Copper Company plans to use this capital to maintain operations and project portfolios to reduce additional borrowing requirements. The company said it will launch a strategic recovery plan in the next few months.
