Insider Sellers Might Regret Selling Ariadne Australia Shares at a Lower Price Than Current Market Value

Listen to the news

Despite the fact that Ariadne Australia Limited's (ASX:ARA) value has dropped 11% in the last week insiders who sold AU$3.7m worth of stock in the past 12 months have had less success. Insiders would probably have been better off holding on to their shares given that the average selling price of AU$0.69 is still lower than the current share price.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Ariadne Australia Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Non-Executive Alternate Director, Kevin Seymour, sold AU$2.7m worth of shares at a price of AU$0.77 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of AU$0.45. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

In total, Ariadne Australia insiders sold more than they bought over the last year. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!
