QUICK SPARK: OpenAI Acquires Presentation Startup, NextSlide Founder Confirms

OpenAI has acquired NextSlide, a startup focused on AI-powered presentation creation, with the company’s team joining OpenAI to work on ChatGPT. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

NextSlide founder Ahmed Beshry described the startup’s product as a tool that transforms prompts, notes, documents, or research into editable slide decks, according to the company’s website.

Beshry said the company’s goal was "to make visual communication more accessible and help more people express their ideas clearly," TechCrunch reported. He added that joining OpenAI would allow the team to "continue pursuing that same mission: building AI products that help people create, communicate, and turn their ideas into meaningful work."

In a LinkedIn post, Beshry said the public announcement came "a few months late," noting that the transaction had actually taken place "earlier this year," according to TechCrunch.

Beshry previously co-founded Caper AI, a smart-cart and cashierless checkout startup that was acquired by Instacart in 2021.
