CSPC Group (01093): SYS 6037 injection (monkeypox mRNA vaccine) approved for clinical trials in the US

Zhitong Finance App News, Shiyao Group (01093) announced that SYS 6037 injection (monkeypox mRNA vaccine), a new class 1 biological product developed by the Group in cooperation with the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and can conduct clinical trials in the US.

Monkeypox is caused by the monkeypox virus, which belongs to the genus Poxviridae. This product is a multi-antibody monkeypox vaccine encoded by a single m RNA chain. It is used to prevent monkeypox. The technical route is simple, which is conducive to quality control in the production process, and can significantly reduce production costs, thereby improving the controllability and accessibility of the vaccine.

Preclinical studies have shown that compared with the live attenuated vaccine (Tiantan strain), this product has better immunogenicity and protective efficacy, and shows a broad spectrum of cross-reactions to various orthopedic virus antigens. This product is expected to become a market-competitive monkeypox vaccine product, further enriching the Group's mRNA vaccine innovation product pipeline.
