It's been a pretty great week for Cresco Labs Inc. (CSE:CL) shareholders, with its shares surging 17% to CA$1.05 in the week since its latest second-quarter results. It was overall a positive result, with revenues beating expectations by 4.2% to hit US$173m. Cresco Labs also reported a statutory profit of US$0.04, which was a nice improvement from the loss that the analysts were predicting. This is an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance in its report, look at what experts are forecasting for next year, and see if there has been any change to expectations for the business. So we gathered the latest post-earnings forecasts to see what estimates suggest is in store for next year.
Following the latest results, Cresco Labs' five analysts are now forecasting revenues of US$673.3m in 2026. This would be a reasonable 3.8% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Losses are predicted to fall substantially, shrinking 84% to US$0.043. Before this latest report, the consensus had been expecting revenues of US$654.4m and US$0.086 per share in losses. So it seems there's been a definite increase in optimism about Cresco Labs' future following the latest consensus numbers, with a very favorable reduction to the loss per share forecasts in particular.

Yet despite these upgrades, the analysts cut their price target 6.3% to CA$2.53, implicitly signalling that the ongoing losses are likely to weigh negatively on Cresco Labs' valuation. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. There are some variant perceptions on Cresco Labs, with the most bullish analyst valuing it at CA$2.73 and the most bearish at CA$2.30 per share. This is a very narrow spread of estimates, implying either that Cresco Labs is an easy company to value, or - more likely - the analysts are relying heavily on some key assumptions.
One way to get more context on these forecasts is to look at how they compare to both past performance, and how other companies in the same industry are performing. For example, we noticed that Cresco Labs' rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with revenues forecast to exhibit 7.8% growth to the end of 2026 on an annualised basis. That is well above its historical decline of 4.2% a year over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to see their revenue grow 10% per year. Although Cresco Labs' revenues are expected to improve, it seems that the analysts are still bearish on the business, forecasting it to grow slower than the broader industry.
The most obvious conclusion is that the analysts made no changes to their forecasts for a loss next year. Fortunately, they also upgraded their revenue estimates, although our data indicates it is expected to perform worse than the wider industry. The consensus price target fell measurably, with the analysts seemingly not reassured by the latest results, leading to a lower estimate of Cresco Labs' future valuation.
Keeping that in mind, we still think that the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for investors to consider. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for Cresco Labs going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here..
