On August 8, the State Defense General Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized joint meetings with departments such as the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Housing, Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Transport, and Zhejiang, Fujian, Hebei and other provinces that may be affected to investigate the development trend of typhoon “White Dolphin” and further study and deploy typhoon prevention and response work. The State Defense General Administration initiated a level-4 emergency response for flood control and typhoon control in Jiangsu and Anhui, maintained a level-3 emergency response for flood control and typhoon prevention in Zhejiang and Fujian, and a level-4 emergency response for flood control in Heilongjiang. Task forces are being dispatched to assist and guide flood control and typhoon prevention work in Zhejiang and Fujian. Chen Min, director of the State Defense General Office, Vice Minister of Emergency Management and Vice Minister of Water Resources presided over the meeting.
