Amazon shares hit a record high on Monday when Jeff Bezos sold almost $350 million worth of Amazon shares, the first time he sold shares in the company this year. The deal was disclosed in a Form 4 filing released after the market on Wednesday. The billionaire said in another document two days ago that he plans to sell up to 15 million Amazon shares worth more than $4 billion. This sale is only a fraction of the plan. As Amazon shares rose 18% this year, Bezos' wealth increased by $387 billion to $292 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Amazon recently became the fifth company with a market capitalization exceeding $3 trillion after announcing strong revenue performance in the cloud computing business last week. Even after this sale, Bezos is still far ahead with an 8.16% shareholding ratio and is Amazon's largest shareholder.
