European Commission spokeswoman Eva Hernkirova said in an email statement that the European Commission will carry out on-site inspections on Brazilian poultry and honey products at the end of August. If the inspection results pass, the Brazilian products mentioned above are expected to be approved for export to the European Union. The European Commission said that the inspection did not cover two categories of products: first, categories for which Brazil cannot guarantee compliance throughout the life cycle of animals during the inspection phase, including beef and eggs; second, categories that have not actually obtained an export license from the EU, such as aquatic products. Brazil must ensure that animals corresponding to export products comply with EU regulations on the use of antimicrobials throughout the entire breeding cycle. The inspection report will be issued in a few weeks.
