South Korean police said on the 5th that South Korea and Kazakh law enforcement agencies carried out a joint operation to destroy a South Korean electronic fraud gang hiding in Kazakhstan and arrest more than 10 suspects of Korean nationality. The South Korean Police Agency reported on the same day that a South Korean multi-departmental task force to combat transnational crime launched an operation in Almaty, Kazakhstan on July 23 to arrest 14 members of the fraud gang. Additionally, 5 members of the gang were arrested in South Korea. The suspect caught in Kazakhstan was deported to South Korea in batches from July 28 to August 5.
