On August 5, The Walt Disney Company and TikTok announced that they had reached a global short video content sharing agreement. The agreement will be piloted in the US over the next few months, and is planned to be extended to other markets. It will bring a large amount of carefully curated, Disney-centered fan-created content on TikTok to the Disney+ app. When launched, short videos created by creators participating in the project will appear on TikTok and Disney+ VERTS at the same time, covering characters and stories of Disney's brands. TikTok will provide its creators with access to footage related to hundreds of movies and series in the Disney IP library.
