HSBC to Repurchase Up to $5 Billion of Senior Unsecured Notes Due 2028

12:22 AM EDT, 08/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- HSBC (HSBA.L) will launch an offer to buy back up to $5 billion of outstanding senior unsecured notes on Wednesday, according to a same-day release. The British lender will offer to repurchase 2.013% notes due Sept. 22, 2028; 7.39% notes due Nov. 3, 2028; 5.597% notes due May 17, 2028; and 4.041% notes due March 13, 2028. In aggregate, $8.6 billion of the notes remain outstanding. The offers will expire at 5 pm New York City time on Aug. 12, and settlement is expected on Aug. 17.
