On August 3, Wang Jianbo, Deputy Director of China's National Energy Administration, met with South Africa's Minister of Electricity and Energy Rossienzo Ramohaupa in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on promoting energy cooperation between China and South Africa. Wang Jianbo said that energy is a key area of cooperation between the two countries. China is willing to work with South Africa to make good use of existing intergovernmental cooperation mechanisms and joint construction of “Belt and Road” and BRICS cooperation platforms to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in key areas such as energy planning, clean energy, power grids, and technological innovation, and continuously raise the level of energy cooperation between China and South Africa. Ramohaupa said that South Africa's “Integrated Resource Plan 2025” has been officially implemented, and new energy sources are the focus of South Africa's future development. China's new energy industry system is complete, and South Africa is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in areas such as energy policy, energy planning, project investment, and technical exchanges.
