Typhoon No. 14 of this year, “Whale,” formed at 2 a.m. on August 5 in the central part of the South China Sea. At 5 a.m., its center was located about 305 km north-west of Manila in the Philippines, that is, 17.1 degrees north latitude and 119.8 degrees east longitude. The maximum wind force near the center was level 8. The lowest air pressure at the center was 998 hundred Pa, and the radius of the 7-level wind circle was 100-120 kilometers. It is expected that the “whale” will slowly move eastward at a speed of 5 to 10 kilometers per hour, with little change in intensity. It will land on the northwestern coast of Luzon in the Philippines from the night of the 5th to the 6th, then gradually decrease in intensity.
