Gold prices rose in early Asian trading. DHF Capital S.A. CEO and asset manager Bas Kooijman said in a report that this precious metal has been trading in a range for several weeks as the market weighs between the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East and changing expectations of US monetary policy. Kooijman said that progress in US-Iran negotiations may reduce oil prices, limit concerns about inflation, and push bond yields lower, thereby reducing downward pressure on gold. Kooijman added that the market will keep a close eye on US labor data to look for any signals regarding the Federal Reserve's monetary policy expectations. Spot gold rose 0.2% to $4,063.40 an ounce.
