The Zhitong Finance App learned that on Monday, Alibaba (BABA.US) rose more than 4% to $127.84. According to the news, Alibaba's Qwen (Qwen) team officially released the Qianwen 3.8-Max on August 3. The total number of parameters is 2.4 trillion and the activation parameter 95B. It is the largest and most capable model of the Qianwen family so far. This is also the first time that Qianwen has open sourced a Max level model — Weights will be released next week on the open source community Hugging Face and ModelScope.

In terms of pricing, Qianwen 3.8-Max provides API calls through the Qianwen AI platform (Alibaba Cloud): input $2.0/million tokens, output $6.0/million tokens, and implicitly cache $0.25/million tokens.

Benchmark tests showed that Qianwen 3.8-Max performed similarly to Anthropic Fable 5 in many indicators of programming agents and general-purpose agents, and surpassed the latter in some indicators. For example, PaperBench scored 93.0, higher than Fable5's 88.8; CoWorkBench scored 74.8, close to Fable5's 75.9; and WideSearch scored 81.9, which is the same as Fable5's 81.2.
