On August 3, Visa announced that it had signed a final agreement to acquire biometrics and anti-fraud company BioCatch from shareholders such as Permira for 2.4 billion US dollars in cash. Visa said the acquisition aims to improve its existing cyber security and risk control solutions to help banks and other financial institutions prevent threats such as account theft, internet fraud, and application fraud. The transaction is expected to close before the end of the second quarter of fiscal year 2027.
