PharmaMar's Small-cell Lung Cancer Therapy Combo Bags Approval in Qatar

05:25 AM EDT, 08/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Qatar's health ministry approved PharmaMar's (PHM.MC) Zepzelca, in combination with atezolizumab, as a maintenance treatment for adult patients with extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer. The approval was backed by a late-stage study, where the Zepzelca and atezolizumab combination reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 46% and the risk of death by 27%, compared with atezolizumab maintenance therapy alone, PharmaMar's distribution partner Immedica said Monday. Immedica holds the distribution rights to Zepzelca in the Nordics, the UK and Ireland, Central Eastern Europe as well as in the Middle East and North Africa.
