The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan” for the Construction of New Electric Power Systems. The plan proposes to actively develop nuclear power in a safe and orderly manner, and scientifically determine the layout and construction schedule of coastal nuclear power bases. Promote large-scale construction of nuclear power, and actively promote R&D, demonstration, promotion and application of next-generation nuclear power technology. Take more measures to reduce the cost of small reactors and strengthen the comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy and business model innovation. By 2030, about 110 million kilowatts of nuclear power will be installed.
