Sandoz Reaches US Settlements Over Generic Drug Antitrust Claims

01:52 AM EDT, 08/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sandoz Group (SDZ.SW) said Monday it entered into settlement agreements to resolve all claims in the US related to allegations against the company of anti-competitive practices in the generic medicines market. The Swiss drugmaker agreed to pay $450 million in total for the resolution of remaining federal or state governmental claims in the US. The amount includes a $400 million payment over seven years beginning in 2027 and $50 million for states that had reached earlier settlements, subject to approval by all 43 states and territories covered by the pending litigation in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut. Separately, Sandoz agreed to pay $28.5 million to settle an indirect reseller class action in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, subject to court approval. Sandoz clarified that its entry into the agreements is not an admission of wrongdoing. It affirmed its outlook for full-year 2026 and the medium term amid the deals.
