Recently, the Zhejiang Science and Technology Department issued the “Implementation Plan on Innovating Joint Laboratory Construction Mechanisms to Enhance the Quality and Efficiency of Integration”, which will take effect from September 1, 2026. The “Implementation Plan” proposes that by 2030, the province will select about 300 benchmark joint laboratories; rely on joint laboratories to target major scientific and technological research projects, and break through more than 500 key core technical problems. The “Implementation Plan” clearly states that the multi-dimensional evaluation selects a number of benchmark joint laboratories with outstanding demonstration effects; jointly promotes the construction of joint laboratories and the placement of “science and technology vice presidents” to assist enterprises to consolidate their needs and “accurately solve questions”; and target the joint laboratory or lead enterprise to implement research tasks that actually invest 10 million yuan or more, are in line with strategic orientation and are expected to achieve significant results.
