The reporter learned from SIPG on the 2nd that Shanghai Port's single-day container throughput exceeded 200,000 TEUs on the 1st, reaching 20,3881 TEUs, a record high. According to reports, typhoon “Bawe” passed through the border in mid-July, and shipping operations at Shanghai Port were affected for about 4 days. A large number of branch ships sheltered from the wind arrived at the port. Berths were tight, and there was a cumulative backlog of tank volume, putting a test to the terminal production organization, ship evacuation, and yard turnover. Faced with challenges, the SIPG coordinated scheduling and active scientific responses to quickly digest branch ships and restore production capacity in the port area. Since then, during the recovery phase, the average daily container throughput of Shanghai Port has steadily reached 172,000 TEUs, and production efficiency has steadily increased. On August 1, a new single-day container throughput record was set at Shanghai Port. This is not only the result of continuous efforts in the early stages, but also a new starting point for improving quality and efficiency.
