As you might know, Asian Paints Limited (NSE:ASIANPAINT) just kicked off its latest quarterly results with some very strong numbers. It was overall a positive result, with revenues beating expectations by 3.4% to hit ₹105b. Asian Paints also reported a statutory profit of ₹16.05, which was an impressive 26% above what the analysts had forecast. Earnings are an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance, look at what the analysts are forecasting for next year, and see if there's been a change in sentiment towards the company. So we collected the latest post-earnings statutory consensus estimates to see what could be in store for next year.
After the latest results, the 34 analysts covering Asian Paints are now predicting revenues of ₹411.4b in 2027. If met, this would reflect a notable 11% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are predicted to rise 9.2% to ₹54.23. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of ₹407.3b and earnings per share (EPS) of ₹51.55 in 2027. So the consensus seems to have become somewhat more optimistic on Asian Paints' earnings potential following these results.

The consensus price target was unchanged at ₹2,991, implying that the improved earnings outlook is not expected to have a long term impact on value creation for shareholders. There's another way to think about price targets though, and that's to look at the range of price targets put forward by analysts, because a wide range of estimates could suggest a diverse view on possible outcomes for the business. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Asian Paints at ₹3,750 per share, while the most bearish prices it at ₹1,860. Note the wide gap in analyst price targets? This implies to us that there is a fairly broad range of possible scenarios for the underlying business.
One way to get more context on these forecasts is to look at how they compare to both past performance, and how other companies in the same industry are performing. It's clear from the latest estimates that Asian Paints' rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 14% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2027 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 5.2% p.a. over the past five years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 12% annually. Factoring in the forecast acceleration in revenue, it's pretty clear that Asian Paints is expected to grow at about the same rate as the wider industry.
The biggest takeaway for us is the consensus earnings per share upgrade, which suggests a clear improvement in sentiment around Asian Paints' earnings potential next year. Happily, there were no real changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow in line with the overall industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
With that said, the long-term trajectory of the company's earnings is a lot more important than next year. We have forecasts for Asian Paints going out to 2029, and you can see them free on our platform here.
