Listen to the news

Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Aztech Global Ltd. (SGX:8AZ) Executive Chairman & CEO, Hong Yew Mun, recently bought S$72k worth of stock, for S$0.71 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.

Aztech Global Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent purchase by Hong Yew Mun was the biggest purchase of Aztech Global shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of S$0.67. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is encouraging to see an insider paid above the current price for shares, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Hong Yew Mun.

Insider Ownership

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It's great to see that Aztech Global insiders own 72% of the company, worth about S$371m. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
