The Zhitong Finance App learned that hedge funds are returning to the US crude oil market at the fastest speed since March this year against the backdrop of supply disruptions in the three major energy transportation routes in the world — the Strait of Hormuz, the Red Hemand Strait, and the Black Sea. According to the latest data from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), fund managers sharply increased their net long positions on WTI crude oil by 21,402 lots to 108,307 lots for the week ending July 28, the biggest weekly increase in nearly four months. Speculators' current bullish sentiment on WTI crude oil has climbed to its highest level since mid-June. At the same time, the net long position in US gasoline rose to a four-month high, and the long position on diesel hit a record high in nearly five months.
